The fitness of children is just as important as that of their moms and dads. With the rate of childhood obesity on the rise, parents need to become more proactive in establishing healthy behaviors in their children early in life. We believe that kids can get involved in physical activity at a young age and enjoy doing it, with the proper guidance and instruction. Becoming involved in youth fitness classes and programs at the Club will benefit your child by providing a sound basis for healthy living that will last the rest of their life.
The Seattle Athletic Club offers individual and group fitness programs for children and youth, including strength training for kids and special fitness training for teens.
Some of our current programs are:
- Swim/Gym (Ages 2-8)
Swim Gym is a family program designed for children and parents to build friendships and physical skills. This hour long class will be divided into 30 minute segments allowing the participants to enjoy both gym and swim games. This is a perfect chance for children to enjoy the physical activity and therapeutic benefits with other children while bonding with parents. - Move and Groove (Ages 2-8)
This program promotes, physical activity, healthy lifestyles, skill development, cooperation, fairness, fun, and respect for other children. Our commitment is to help young people achieve a strong self-concept, self–responsibility, and the ability to get along with peers. It is our goal to provide every child with activities that are both enjoyable and educational.

We also offer swimming lessons for children of all ages and ability levels.
Private and Semi-private Swim Lessons
Our swim lessons are designed for ages 1 year and older and are taught at the private and semi-private level. All instructors are WSI certified. Lessons are scheduled Monday throgh Thursday after 3:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays in the morning. To schedule an appointment please contact Aquatics Director, Teresa Nelson at tnelson@sacdt.com.
Youth Triathlon
The Seattle Athletic Club youth program is designed with the idea of being outside in the summer and to teach children about the fun of a multi sport event. The youth will learn skills in four disciples: swimming, biking, running, and fun! This is a great opportunity for the whole family to get involved. We will prepare the youth for the events through fun games and getting exercise all at the same time. Parents can race in the morning and have their children participate in their race in the afternoon. There is fun for everyone.
