Help Us Fight Hunger
NOVEMBER 7 - 22
Decades after the Boeing unemployment crisis in 1970, fighting hunger at home and the need for emergency food assistance remains. Today, Northwest Harvest is still the only statewide hunger relief agency in Washington. Serving 37 of Washington’s 39 counties, securing approximately 18 million pounds of food each year for distribution through a network of more than 300 partner food programs – Northwest Harvest still needs your help to assist others. Help us reach out to our community by bringing in a donation for Northwest Harvest. As a thank you, we will have a drawing for a two night stay at the Bird Rock Hotel on San Juan Island.

2007 Referral Sweepstakes Recap
Asa Rottsolk and her mother enjoyed a week in sunny Maui as a result of referring a new member to the Club last fall. Jim and Asa Rottsolk were the winners of last year’s Maui member referral campaign. Referring a new member to the Club put their name into the drawing where the winners received airfare on Hawaiian Air and a week at the Coast Resort Hotel on Maui. “The trip was actually won by my husband, but since our family already had a family vacation planned earlier in the year, he suggested that I should invite my mother instead” Asa said. “She lives in Sweden so we planned the trip in June to coincide with one her trips to Seattle.” Asa says Maui is her family’s favorite vacation spot and they travel there often, “This was my mother's first trip to Hawaii, and she loved it!”
Jim Rottsolk has been a member of the Club since it opened in 1982. His wife Asa joined the membership 13 years ago when she moved here from Europe. “We have a son who is now 12” said Asa, “I worked out at the Club during my pregnancy, then used the Club’s childcare after he was born, which was a life saver when he was younger.”
The Rottsolk’s still spend time as a family at the Club and especially enjoy their weekends when they like to stroll through Pike Market or enjoy brunch at Etta's after a work out.

Alleviate Your Computer Posture Discomfort
By: Julie Bacon, LMP
Repeatedly during the course of a massage, I have raked muscles between the scapula and thoracic spine and found them to be hard, tight and painful to the client who immediately pleads with me to work right there – that’s where they want me to provide them with relief. Unfortunately, it’s out of my hands, literally! Why? These muscles are typically stretched tight (like a rubber band) because they are weak; they are under tensile stress, and losing the battle against gravity. Most massage practitioners will agree that all the manipulating in the world will not relieve these muscles: they remain just as tight and painful at the end of the massage. It might feel good (or painful) to have them worked on but this is only palliative. The real solution to your discomfort is to strengthen these muscles yourself.
