Managing Menopause
By Peg Maas, Physical Therapist
Menopause is the time in a woman’s life when her reproductive capacity has ended and she no longer passes eggs out of her ovaries or creates a lining in her uterus for one of those eggs to grow in, should it be fertilized. There is a great deal of attention paid to this transition for women, which leads us to think of it as a medical event rather than what it really is: a normal passage into the next phase of a woman’s life. .

Bike to Work Day
The 16th annual "Bike to Work Day" is on May 21st. In New Hampshere just last year, 302 commuters participated in this green event and left their car at home for ONE DAY. Those commuters average 4,193 miles and saved 1.86 tons of Co2 in just that ONE DAY!
Riding in Seattle on this day can help generate the improvement of our roads and routes to make them more biker friendly. Throughout the Puget Sound riders can stop at any of the commute stations on this day and pick up free snacks, prizes, and commuting maps. This is your day to be counted as a rider in our community.

Film Night: Back to School (1986)
Zany Rodney Dangerfield plays an irreverent businessman that helps his son complete college by signing up as a student himself. True to form, Rodney’s lines come fast and furious, but they are only humorous background to a father who wants his son to find success. The scholarly mayhem is enlivened by performances by Sally Kellerman, Robert Downey, Jr., Ned Beatty, and a cameo role by Kurt Vonnegut.
